Monday Muddle: Big A$$ Book Sale, New Contract, Release Par-tay

Everything happened today, or rather it seemed that way. First up, there is a huge sale with the Sexy To Go bundles. All eight volumes (yes, the new one drops this week) are on sale in September for 99 cents each.

Volume 8 has the final installment of ON THE SLY, and you can get it at ARe, KOBO, and ITUNES so far. If you need to finish your STG collection this is the time. My stories are noted below:

Today I got word that my M/M shifter story, GATOR TAIL, will appear in COMING TOGETHER: STRANGE SHIFTERS.

GATOR TAIL follows up another story I wrote for CT, FOX'S HOLIDAY. It's not a direct sequel, but set in the same universe. This coming anthology will benefit the Bat World Sanctuary.

Finally, you are all invited to the FALLING IN LOVE release party on September 22.

Under the Sun Publishing will release their first box set next month. I may be in a future one, but I'll be at the party with all the other UTS authors having fun and giving away prizes. Lots of books and GCs to be had. It's a Facebook party going on all day.

So it's been busy, and then I get a list of all the anthology calls for another publisher. It's going to be a fun winter. :)

Book Blast: Intuition by Anna Durand, book 2 in the Psychic Crossroads series

Anna Durand has a new book out, and I'm happy to share the news with you. Enjoy this preview. :)

Intuition by Anna Durand, book 2 in the Psychic Crossroads series

Torn apart by their haunted pasts, Grace Powell and her fiancĂ© David Ransom are struggling to reclaim their passionate bond and build a normal life — one without danger and paranormal powers. But David can't renounce his obsession with hunting down Karl Tesler, who abducts and tortures psychics. David endured Tesler's tactics himself, but despite what Grace believes, he's not out for revenge.
Tesler covets her unprecedented abilities and her mysterious connection to a source of limitless psychic power. David will do anything — even abandon and lie to her — to protect Grace from Tesler.
With a psychic stalker on her trail, Grace charges into a desperate mission to uncover the truth about David's obsession. But Tesler's agents are closing in on her, and a terrifying new enemy is rising…
As events drive Grace and David toward a battle of epic proportions, they must risk everything — their relationship, their lives, and even their souls — to defeat an enemy who wields unspeakable psychic power.

When they'd reached the security checkpoint at the airport, she'd longed to plead with David to stay. Instead, she cranked her lips into a smile, pecked a kiss on his cheek, and all but shoved him through the gate. Her stomach wrenched into knots recalling that moment, as he strolled into the main terminal. When he paused to glance back, she prayed he would change his mind. But he simply waved, then strode out of sight.
Grace rolled onto her side. Her nose bumped into David's pillow. She drew in a long breath. The spiciness of his aftershave flooded her senses, along with another scent—a subtle, masculine smell unique to David. Indescribable. Delicious. Warmth suffused her, seeping into her heart and mind, smoldering in parts of her that ached for him. She inhaled another draft of his scent, her body responding as if he were there, caressing her. He may drive her nuts at times, but…
Oh, the way he kissed. Her lips tingled from the memory of it.
A chill whispered over her skin. Every hair on her body stiffened. Her sixth sense burst out of its slumber, clanging alarm bells in her psyche. Someone is here.
She bolted upright and whipped her head left and right. Nobody there. She swung her legs off the bed and pushed up onto her feet, nabbing her .357 Magnum revolver from the bedside table. A chill trickled down her spine. Eyes watched. Invisible, ethereal, but real. She turned toward the doorway. Nothing lurked there.
Why couldn't she pin down the source of the sensation? Her paranormal radar was blanked out, as if overwhelmed by  input.
Psychic energy crackled through her. Behind you. She whirled around, thrusting the gun up, clamped in both hands, and confronted—
The lamp.
Hell. She'd let her unease blossom into paranoia. Nobody hunted her anymore. Probably. Tesler wouldn't find her here.
Her cell phone buzzed. A text message had arrived.
David. She snatched up the phone, tapping the screen until the message popped up. As she scanned the words, a shiver rattled through her.
"Come to me," it said, "I can help you. 1325 Meroz Road."
She didn't recognize the phone number the message came from, and no name was given. Oh sure, she'd rush right out to the address texted to her by an anonymous whackjob.
The phone buzzed again. Another text message: "Your lip is bleeding."
Her lip? She dabbed a finger on her mouth. It came away wet. Blood stained her skin. How did the texter know she bit her lip? Her heart pounded. Without moving, she searched the shadows for a figure, a camera, something to explain this, though she knew she'd find nothing. A thick curtain shielded the window. The person sending the messages could either see through solid objects or had another means of viewing her. Extrasensory means.
The phone tumbled from her hand, clattering on the floor.
No, she was jumping to conclusions. An intruder must've stolen into the house. With the revolver in hand, she sprinted out of the bedroom, down the hallway, through the kitchen, and into the living room. Vacant. All vacant. She rushed back to the bedroom and dug through the closet, scoured the dresser, even dropped onto her belly to investigate the space under the bed. No cameras. No stealthy intruders. Not a damn thing. Which left her with one unthinkable possibility.
Maybe she should call the police.
What for? They couldn't help her with this kind of problem.
"You belong with me."
She jumped. Her head smacked into the bed frame. She clutched the gun tighter. Where had the voice come from?
No, no, no, not again. Nausea swelled in her stomach, bile rising high in her throat. The voice did not originate in this room, or from outside. The source was much, much closer. Someone rammed the words into her mind.
A psychic intruder just hacked her brain.

Guest Author: Allyson R. Abbot

Please welcome Allyson R. Abbot!

My new book, a novella, Goodbye, Hello, is due to be published on 28th Aug . I am an indie author and publisher, so this is a very hectic time for me,  I need to wear so many different hats.

Goodbye, Hello is about a middle aged woman who, through a prod from her best friend, realises that she is wasting being what other people expect her to be.  Linda decides to take control of her life and books a trip to Fiji, where she meets a swoonyworthy, but down to earth instructor who manages to find Linda in humiliating situations and plays the hero. Not being a simpering twentysomething, she finds this rather annoying and does not take to him very much.

It is a funny, but also a realistic and many people find themselves in a similar situation.  I love writing about strong women with great character.

I 'm very lucky to have the indulgence of time and space to enable me to write. I took a sabbatical from work to accompany my partner on his bucket list travels and adventures, and never went back.  I really thought I would struggle with all the free time, so decided to attempt to write a book to keep myself occupied.

Now writing has consumed my time and I’m never sure where I will be, hence my novels could be classed as 'international'  they may have been started in one country and been continued across borders.   We are still travelling, although we do pop back to the UK for a few months every now and again.

I love the fact that no matter what our age we can use new technology to connect to the rest of the world and enhance our lives. Back in the UK I have my friends and family and with emails, phones, skype or face-time, we are never out of touch for long. Even my mother at eighty-six uses face-time to catch up with me. I have the world at my fingertips and only twenty-four hours away from anywhere.

Being a 'mature aging gracefully' woman, I feel akin to the problems of aging and relationships. I spent many years on my own before finding my truly remarkable and very patient partner who I happily gave up my whole world for.  My stories are about mature relationships with mature people.

People who have character and humour, who have a history; people just like us.

I like to call it Hen Lit, not Chick Lit, but it is not just about falling in love. They are about real people and real relationships.

I hope you enjoy my stories. Please check my web page or social media pages if you would like to contact me. I love emails and try to answer every one as soon as possible.

Changes and Choices

Recently I made the decision to cancel a few contracts. It wasn't easy and it's something I've pondered for most of the year. Given the changes in the publishing landscape, and the disappointing year I've had so far with the bulk of my catalog, I felt it was time. My decision had more to do with my desire to retool some of my works and offer them at a more competitive price than it did with the publisher.

Let it be said, this publisher was good to me for a very long time. We are parting amicably, and I wish them success. Fact is, things have to change in order for other, hopefully better things to happen. I wish I knew what the future holds for me, but I'll do my best to steer it in the right direction.

That said, I will be re-releasing several stories soon. First order of business, the first two novels in my Dareville series:

Each book is getting a touch up. Truth or Dare becomes Daring Him and will be made available at a lower price. I don't have a release date set, because the books have to come down from the current publisher first. I'll have covers for the other three core books in the series soon.

As for the rest of my catalog, the stories will be parsed into box sets according to genre and series. I have several Dareville shorts that I have wanted to collect in anthology for some time. I also have enough contemporary M/M for a set.

So that's what is happening right now. In September the Sexy To Go team is having a huge sale. Watch this space for when and where.

Monday Muddle: Two Out of Three

August is definitely the hottest month, more so over here. At this writing, I'm coming to you from a house without AC. That's right, the unit supposed to cool our home is busted with a capital *$&%, and we're waiting for a part while making do with a portable unit. It's primitive living here, but I've suffered worse. I'm worried more that the wine will spoil.

I could use some cheering up, so if you're in the mood for some sexy reading I have two parts of a three-part serial available through SEXY TO GO, Vols. 6 & 7. ON THE SLY takes us back to 1989. Colin is working the local LGBT bookstore in Archer Beach and digging the Sylvester Street scene, while Officer Jeremy Truman's on the hunt for the Jackson Park Jumper, who's been assaulting gay man after dark. Colin wants to help apprehend him, and Tru will do anything to protect Colin.

Buy Volume 6: ARe ~ AMZ ~ BN ~ KOBO ~ ITUNES ~ SMASH

Buy Volume 7: ARe ~ AMZ ~ BN ~ KOBO ~ ITUNES ~ SMASH

You may be asking, why are the covers MF when my stories are MM? The bundles are a mixed bag, with MF stories being the majority. In fact, in 6 & 7 you'll find the first two parts of GEEK OVERBOARD under my other name, so it's two times of me in each of these bundles. ON THE SLY will conclude in Volume 8, while GEEK OVERBOARD will go on a few more volumes.

Meanwhile, I've received word that FIRST LADY LOVE is almost finishing. A cover reveal and release date are due any time now. I look forward to sharing the information as I get it.

Once ON THE SLY is done, that will be the last serialization I'll do for Sexy to Go. Anything else I'll contribute will be standalone shorts, and in the meantime I've started work on something longer. I look forward to sharing the next phase of my writing with you. :-)

Monday Muddle: On the Road, Back Online

While I haven't been 100 percent offline, I've spent the last two weeks on the road. Most of the time, we spent visiting family - staying with the parents in Florida and the in-laws up north. Somewhere in the middle we took a day to visit the old school - the University of Georgia, that is. DH and I spent five years in Athens while he worked on his degree and I worked - first at a bookstore, then the library. This marked the beginning of my history in book-work, and it was in Athens where I started work on one of my first books (a mystery novel).

It's said you can't go home again, and there's truth in the statement. However, we were pleased to find some of our favorite haunts remained and changed little over the years. There's a vegetarian eatery in Athens called The Grit, where we ate at least twice a week back in the day. I call it a vegetarian restaurant for non-vegetarians. It's meatless comfort food, not all of it healthy but it tastes good, and if you eat there enough it may just convert you.

Much as I love to travel, it crimps on my writing time. There are distractions, and people need my attention. Plus I had an anniversary in here, too, so we set down the electronic devices for that. While I was away, part two of On The Sly came out in Sexy To Go, Volume 7 (Buy: ARe ~ AMZITUNES ~ SMASH). The final installment will appear in Volume 8, and after that I have at least one holiday story planned. I haven't decided how I will finish out the box sets, but I'm sure something will come to me.

I'm still waiting to hear on an MM shifter submission, as well as the FF box set that will carry Daring Destiny. In the meantime, I can write again now that I'm back in my chair. After the few stories I've promised, I plan to go into deep cave mode for something longer. It's time, and I have ideas I want to get on paper before I forget.
