It's the Winter Wonder Man Blog Hop! Grand prize is a book gift certificate, and I'm giving away ebooks, too!
What makes a hero wonderful to the point your toes curl? Read on!
I. Hate. Winter. I won't apologize for it, either. I am not a cold weather person, and I am counting the days until Spring. These past few weeks my productivity has slowed because the cold just saps my strength. When you're too tired to read a book, you know you're in trouble, and I am already behind on my 2014 reading goal.
However, I don't mind writing winter-themed romances. I have a few shorts with a late-year setting. A Winter's Dare is a paranormal, interracial love story with a matchmaking ghost, and By the Chimney With Dare is about a guy who finds love with Santa, sort of. Both stories are part of a series I wrote, called Dareville (named for the town in which the stories were set). Going forward, I am certainly open to winter romances in the new worlds I am building. I enjoy the heroes I created here because they are laid-back, handsome, and open to new experiences. Devon in A Winter's Dare has no hang-ups and finds confidence sexy. Jimmy in By the Chimney has no qualms about giving his time to a good cause. A man who embraces charity and is willing to help others is definitely a winner.
Anyway, I don't doubt many people find winter a romantic time of year. That first kiss in the falling snow. Cuddling up by the fire. Exchanging gifts and kissing under the mistletoe. New Year's Eve with the one you love. Winter inspires many romantic scenarios, so I can see how it's nice in that respect. Shoveling sludge and paying high heat bills, not so much.
What is your favorite winter-set romance? I'm giving away two eBooks from my backlist to one lucky commenter for the duration of this hop. Good luck!
