Welcome to the Jingle Bell Hop!
If you didn't get here through the Jingle Bell Blog Hop site, CLICK HERE for the list!
Thanks for stopping by! Leave your comment below for your chance to win a Kindle Fire for the whole blog hop, plus a $10 GC from All Romance eBooks from me!
If you've come this way via the Jingle Bell Hop, welcome! Hope you've had enjoyable hop experience so far. I know many of the authors are doing stories related to the 12 Days of Christmas, but I'm taking a different tack. Normally, I'd jump at the chance, but having recently finished NaNoWrimo wiped me out. So, I am in recovery mode right now, self-medicating with chocolate.
Yes, what's Christmas without chocolate? For me, it's not just a snack - it's a way of life. I try to have just a little bit a day, particularly the dark variety because it's supposed to be better for you. If anybody catches me with a Hershey's Special Dark, I can simply explain that I'm getting a dose of antioxidants. It's not a complete lie.
If I had to choose my all-time chocolate Top Ten, it wouldn't take long to do. There are so many wonderful chocolatiers out there, and if you're in the mood for something artisan and unique I heartily suggest the following (in no particular order):
Patric Chocolate - Made in the St. Louis area, a one-man operation basically. All the chocolate is single-origin and tastes clean. Amazing stuff!
Vosges - They make the famous Bacon Bar. Yes, you have to try it to believe it. They excel in mixing the sweet and savory.
Waialua Estate - Chocolate grown in Hawaii on the Dole plantation. You can actually taste notes of pineapple in it!
Moonstruck - Organic producer out of Oregon. Creamy milk bars and a spicy cayenne bar that I adore.
Green and Blacks - This is a more common organic brand. I like the dark varieties and the ginger.
Ritter Sport - Oh, those thick waffle-shaped squares! I love the marizpan bar and the one with corn flakes in it.
Lake Champlain - This chocolatier mainly does filled bars. There is a nice rum caramel one I get once in a full moon.
Dagoba - Dagoba bars are fairly common at health and gourmet stores. There is a nice variety everything from chai to lavender.
Equal Exchange - I love their darks, very rich and smooth.
Chocopologie - Burnt. Caramel. With. Hawaiian. Sea. Salt. That is all.
So that should get me through New Year's. Heh. What's your favorite?

Ritter Sport, exactly the same as you!! Haha, I LOVE anything with marzipan in it, and for Ritter Sport, I love the cornflake one in it too! I remember going to the 7-eleven near my primary school every week to buy one of those yellow squares.:D
Another one of my favourites is Belgium Chocolates. They. Are. Heavenly. Try them! They're really smooth and creamy.:) Souffles are nice too.

You're making me hungry just talking about all that wonderful chocolate! We don't really have any fancy chocolatiers where I live so my favorites might sound boring, but See's chocolate are ones I enjoy.

I really love the Hershey's Dark Chocolate. Happy holidays. Thanks for the giveaway.
Leigh, I think they forgot to add Chocolate on the food pyramid. I love the chocolate from a local store that imports theirs. It is Chocolaterie Stam. The chocolate melts in your mouth and they have the best hot chocolate.
I love chocolate. Especially dark chocolate. I'm a huge fan of peanut M&M's in dark chocolate too. :)
Thanks for the list. I love chocolate but godiva is a favorite and you just can't beat anything made by Reeces lol.
Thanks for the contest.
MMmmmm I love the chocs at Ghiradelli Square. I bought some for family back in Oz but had to go back there three times because i couldn't resist them.
I.Love.All.Chocolate!!!! Milk, Dark, White, different companies. Never met chocolate I didn't like, lol. Which is odd cause I really don't eat it often.

Chocolate! *sighs* My faves are Bissingers & Enstroms (LOVE their dark chocolate toffee!)
elizabeth@bookattict.com
Not familiar with any of these, but they sound wonderful. Thanks for the shopping list!
Thanks for the list. I usually order different brands of organic cocoa powder, and make hot cocoa, and use it in recipes.
I'd love to try all of those brands. I have eaten the ones sold in health food stores. Recently, on another blog I learned about Cowgirl Chocolates. Would I love to try some of their different bars.
Chocolate...yum! I love all different kinds! ;D Thanks for sharing!

Some of these chocolates I've never heard but what I do know is that I love chocolates, especially ones with cherry or nuts inside.

Mmm... chocolate... my big downfall. My all-time favorite brand is "She", which most of you probably haven't heard of because it's a boutique chocolaterie (is that the right word?) located in a tiny bay called Governors Bay, near my hometown.
Thing is, I live in Christchurch, New Zealand! Sorry about that!
Google them online and you'll get some visuals - not as good as the real thing, of course.
Their dark chocolates - especially chilli chocolate and lemongrass - are the sort of stuff you go directly to Hell for. Sigh.
Yum, love chocolate, but during the holiday I love the dark chocolate with caramel, that is my all time favorite.
